Directions - From the heart of Millicent follow the Mount Burr road until you see a Millicent Golf Club sign on the right side of the road. Take a right for 4km then take a left when you see the sign. Drive straight ahead and then your here.
Heading west from Penola, the ardent golfer is set for a real treat at their next potential stop. Approximately 10 kms east from Millicent is the small township of Mt Burr and the superb Millicent Golf Club. The course, just east of Mt Burr, is on a secondary road off the main road but is well worth the trip. Set in a stunning bushland layout of bracken ferns, string bark gums, wattle trees and surrounded by tall pine forests, this golf course which regularly features in Australia's top 100 courses is not to be missed. Or if you are heading out of Millicent take a right turn following the sign just as you near Mt Burr. Continue on until you see a sign indicting a left hand turn to Millicent Golf Club.
The very wide and accommodating fairways and superb greens would do justice to any major city suburban course and it would not look out of place in Melbourne's famed sand belt. In fact, the terrain and some holes on the course have a distinct similarity to various holes at Long Island and Peninsula in Melbourne's southeast, near Frankston. The one outstanding thing about this course is that it is cared for by a staff of one, its course superintendent and some very proud and keen volunteers drawn from its membership ranks.
